Arjun is a fan of Kajol

Rest assured, Arjun Rampal is being remembered a lot more by Karan Johar when it comes to casting for his productions. After a cameo in KABHI ALVIDA NA KEHNA, he has elevated Arjun to the position of a solo male lead in STEPMOM remake - WE ARE FAMILY.

"It has been great fun doing the film. The good part is that when Siddharth (Malhotra), the director, came to me with the film, he ensured that it was not a frame to frame copy of the original. He has got a lot of maturity there. I was very moved with the script that was read out to me because I could see so many different angles that he had brought out", says Arjun who has to deal with two women in the film.

Arjun has never shared screen space before with either Kajol or Kareena, both of whom are known for being scene stealers. No wonder, there indeed was some task cut out for the actor.

"I have been a huge fan of Kajol and it has been fantastic to work with her. She is just so good. On the other hand it was amazing to work with Kareena also. She is at that position in her life where she is doing some wonderful work. The entire approach towards work and the energy that she possesses is infectious. Then there are also these three lovely children in the film and since I love to shoot with kids, it turned out to be one big team. Moreover, all said and done, because it is Karan who is producing the film, you know that it would be overviewed in a nice way."

"In fact when compared to the original character in the Hollywood flick, Siddharth's version is far more nuanced. This film is his interpretation of how a STEPMOM should be", Arjun talks fondly about WE ARE FAMILY which is all set for 10th September release.

We are Family will make love to mothers : Arjun

The year 2010 has been very good for Arjun Rampal. He has been a part of two of the biggest hits of the year, Sajid Khan's HOUSEFULL and Prakash Jha's RAAJNEETI. And the icing on the cake is that the audiences as well as the critics have been full of praise for Arjun in both the films.

While HOUSEFULL was a laugh riot and RAAJNEETI a political drama, in both the cases Arjun's strong, macho image was exploited by the makers. However, in his next film, Karan Johar's We ARE FAMILY, a remake of Hollywood's STEPMOM the case is just the opposite.  

Talking about the film, Arjun reveals that this is an emotional family drama, a very sensitive film and that he would advise the audience to take a bag full of tissue papers with them as it would surely make them shed a few tears! He also elaborated that after watching WE ARE FAMILY the audience will hug their mothers and realize how very important they are for any family to survive and cope with the hardships of the world.

Well, it's been quite a while since we have had a decent tear jerker releasing and naturally one can look forward to WE ARE FAMILY and especially handsome hunk, Arjun Rampal, who will strike a hat trick if the film turns out to be a success!

Pregnant Kajol wants South Indian dishes

Kajol is having her own time, no shooting as well as no diet restriction as she is pregnant with her second child. She in popping into various dishes she likes the most. Now she had a heartfelt desire for South Indian dishes. To fulfill her wish, she called in famous south Indian chef Muthuswami to come to her house and prepare some delicious south dishes.

Muthuswami is a well known caterer who supplies South Indian cuisine to various parties and events. He is hardly available so one has to book him in advance for the same. Kajol has planned a small South Indian festival at her home with various south Indian dishes and also invited some of her close friends for the feast.
By the end of this year, Kajol will be delivering her second child. She and Ajay are already blessed with a girl child.

Karan Johar to show We are family promos in IHLS

Karan Johar recently finalized WE ARE FAMILY as the title of his STEPMOM remake. He is now trying his level best to feature the first promo of the film with his yet another much touted film, I HATE LUV STORYS. 

He tweeted, "Big day at work today...IHLS copy out!! Excited about its release...WE ARE FAMILY promo finalised...rushing against time to get it with IHLS."

WE ARE FAMILY is about a terminally ill divorcee who has to accept the new woman in her ex-husband's life as the stepmother of her kids and the problems they face to find a common ground of understanding. 

The film stars Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Kajol in lead roles. It has been mainly shot in Sydney, Australia. 

Meanwhile, I HATE LUV STORYS, starring Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan, is all set to hit the screens on July 2nd.

Karan Johar's Stepmom remake will be We are family

It starred Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts and it will now star Kajol and Kareena Kapoor. The Stepmom remake that has been in news for quite a while had been haggling for a fitting title for quite sometime. While on one side the release date was a big question mark, Karan Johar turned to twitter to look for an apt title.

He left the title open for discussion to all his followers and in came the rather creative and some humorous options. Today, on twitter, Karan has finally announced the final and official title of his remake film, which is We Are Family. As about the release date, the tweet said, "...will post the release date in a few days!!"
We Are Family stars Kajol, Kareena and Arjun Rampal and is directed by debutant Siddharth Malhotra. Karan Johar is still promoting his next movie I Hate Luv Storys starring Imran Khan, Sonam kapoor and directed by Punit Malhotra.
