Rest assured, Arjun Rampal is being remembered a lot more by Karan Johar when it comes to casting for his productions. After a cameo in KABHI ALVIDA NA KEHNA, he has elevated Arjun to the position of a solo male lead in STEPMOM remake - WE ARE FAMILY.
"It has been great fun doing the film. The good part is that when Siddharth (Malhotra), the director, came to me with the film, he ensured that it was not a frame to frame copy of the original. He has got a lot of maturity there. I was very moved with the script that was read out to me because I could see so many different angles that he had brought out", says Arjun who has to deal with two women in the film.
Arjun has never shared screen space before with either Kajol or Kareena, both of whom are known for being scene stealers. No wonder, there indeed was some task cut out for the actor.
"I have been a huge fan of Kajol and it has been fantastic to work with her. She is just so good. On the other hand it was amazing to work with Kareena also. She is at that position in her life where she is doing some wonderful work. The entire approach towards work and the energy that she possesses is infectious. Then there are also these three lovely children in the film and since I love to shoot with kids, it turned out to be one big team. Moreover, all said and done, because it is Karan who is producing the film, you know that it would be overviewed in a nice way."
"In fact when compared to the original character in the Hollywood flick, Siddharth's version is far more nuanced. This film is his interpretation of how a STEPMOM should be", Arjun talks fondly about WE ARE FAMILY which is all set for 10th September release.

Dostana-2 delays due to script
The sequel to the hit film DOSTANA titled DOSTANA 2 has run into trouble. Apparently, creative differences between the director and the producer are delaying this project.
It's learnt that Karan Johar is unhappy with the way the story of DOSTANA 2 has shaped up. He wants changes in the script which the director is not ready to do.
Keeping this in mind, Karan Johar has postponed the shoot of the film till the changes are made and the script gets okayed by him.
DOSTANA 2 has been getting delayed for one or the other reason constantly. Now, the creative differences seem to have stalled the shoot. Hope the producer and the director sort their differences soon.

Rani wants Aamir Khan
Rani Mukherjee who debuted with ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat’ is desired to work with perfectionist Aamir Khan. She expressed her desire to work with Aamir Khan during the music launch of ‘Peepli Live’. She wants to pair with Aamir in a Karan Johar’s film.
"What do u think on idea to pair Rani with Aamir? It would be great 4 me," Rani posted on her Twitter account. Rani worked with Karan in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998), ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ (2001) and ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ (2006).
"Do u plan to make your next movie with Rani in a leading role? That would be great. Come on KJo, do a movie with Rani," she posted.
Rani worked with Aamir in 'Ghulam' and ‘Mangal Pandey’. She was last seen in ‘Dil Bole Haddipa’ opposite Shahid Kapoor but the film could not revive Rani’s drowning career.

I need Aamir and Shahrukh together : Karan
The distant dream of seeing the two reigning superstars of Bollywood (for almost two decades now), Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan together on-screen may soon get accomplished. As our prolific and visionary filmmaker, Karan Johar has expressed the desire to the cast the duo in his film (in near future).
Lately at the music launch of Aamir Khan's much touted film PEEPLI [LIVE], KJo, who was there to grace the event, revealed, "Aamir Khan is a very good actor. I would love to do a film with Shahrukh Khan and him."
Aamir Khan was also positive on doing a film with Karan Johar.
"Why not? I think Karan is a very talented director. I would love to work with him. If there is a good story for me and if Karan also feels that I fit the role, I will do it," said the perfectionist.
It can be recalled that the Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan have come together on screen only once in Ashutosh Gowariker's directorial debut, PEHLA NASHA. But those were merely cameos.
Now that it comes from someone like Karan Johar, you can bet that they aren't just words and the project will materialize. Let's hope that it happens soon.

Sonam Makes me feel like an Uncle says karan
Karan Johar has come out in defence of the leading lady of recently release I HATE LUV STORYS. While industry was abuzz with rumours of a link up between Sonam Kapoor and Punit Malhotra, the young director who has made his debut with the musical romcom, Karan is hardly amused.
"This is entirely rubbish actually", says Karan who is said to have been impacted with the stories making the rounds for last 3-4 months, "Punit is quite focused on his job and is a thorough professional. He has given his heart and soul into making IHLS and I know for sure that he wasn't distracted at all. There can't be anything more idiotic than insinuating that he was into any romantic rendezvous during the making of the film."
While Karan maintains that it is not his business to get into the personal life of people who work with him or comment on their alleged affairs, he doesn't mind stating facts as they are, "Sonam has been one of the most disciplined actors that Dharma Productions has worked with. She comes with a great lineage and her parents are my friends. In fact when I talk to her, I sound like an old uncle. I like to take care of her."

Deepika loves karan and Yash Raj Films
Deepika Padukone may be doing different kinds of films currently. This year itself she has had a psychological thriller (KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK) and a comedy (HOUSEFULL) to her credit with an action entertainer (LAFANGEY PARINDEY), a musical love story BREAK KE BAAD) and period drama (KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY) arriving before end of year. However, it is the genre of 'feel good' films that she truly loved during her growing up years.
When questioned about the kind of genre that interests her most as an audience, Deepika said, 'I grew up watching films by the likes of Adi (Aditya Chopra), Karan Johar and Yash Chopra. These are the kind of films that I really loved. Then when I grew a little older, there were films like DIL CHAHTA HAI which I really loved. Cinema had started changing and accordingly the taste also changed.'
Watching feel good or cool films isn't something which is restricted only to Deepika. Her parents too share a similar mindset, as revealed by Deepika. 'My mother always says that there is anyway so much tension in one's life with a lot of things happening all around you, so why not watch a film which makes you feel good. With my family, I have loved watching films that had no killings or murders happening.'
However, when it comes to picking roles, she is not restricting herself to only those films that personally interest her most as an audience. 'I would not combine the two,' she smiles, 'I won't say that I will do only those films which I personally love to watch. If I do that, I will only end up getting restricted and slotted.'
