Dabangg Promo getting good response

The promo of Salman Khan's DABANGG is out and those who have seen it are raving about it. It looks uncannily similar to the 2009 Salman Khan starrer WANTED. However, Arbaaz Khan, who is the producer of DABANGG doesn't think so.

"DABANGG isn't WANTED's sequel. It's very different from WANTED. It's far more in a believable space though it's a commercial film. The action is similar to WANTED but that's about it. That was a city based film. Ours is a small town slick action drama. But the kind of audience that liked WANTED is surely going to like DABANGG."
Salman Khan looks very similar to his WANTED's character in DABANGG. Even in DABANGG, he's playing a police officer. Doesn't Arbaaz think so? "That's true. But Salman's character in WANTED was very brooding, quiet and serious. Here, he is entertaining, jovial and far more verbose."

DABANGG will see Shatrughan Sinha's daughter, Sonakshi Sinha making her debut. Being directed by Abhinav Kashyap, DABANGG is slated to release on September 10.

Salman Khan with Kangana Ranaut

Salman Khan seems to have found a new favourite. After Katrina Kaif and Zarine Khan, Salman Khan has chosen to work with Kangna Ranaut for his maiden production. The film will be directed by ace filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar.
It's learnt that Salman and Mahesh Manjrekar wanted to cast an actress who could emote strongly and yet look glamorous and their search ended with finalising Kangna for the film.

With this film Kangna has proved that she is becoming the new reigning queen in B-Town since she's bagging all the big films at the moment.

Dabangg trailer starts tomorrow

Here to recreate the magic of the action packed WANTED is Salman Khan who's back bigger, better than ever in an Arbaaz Khan production DABANGG.

The first look of the film that is already a topic of discussion in industry circles promises to be one of the most entertaining films in recent times in true Salman Khan style! This time around he is joined by gorgeous debutant Sonakshi Sinha one of the most promising leading ladies to have the hit the screen.
DABANGG that sees Salman Khan play the role of a corrupt cop primarily deals with the unlawful practices in UP and Bihar Khan highlighting the flaws and loopholes in the system.

According to sources, the few lucky enough to have already seen the DABANGG trailer have been raving about it ever since.

Says an industry source, 'The promo leaves you breathless. It has you off your seats with its witty dialogues and action sequences. Salman Khan has never looked better. It will leave audiences craving for more.'

The adrenaline filled two and half minute theatrical trailer of the film plans to release alongside Priyadarshan's KHATTA MEETHA on July 23rd 2010.

The action packed DABANGG that promises to be an eye opener is directed by Abhinav Kashyap and by the looks of the trailer seem to be an amalgamation of reality and inimitable electrifying energy that only one man can bring to the screen -Salman Khan.

Also back from the WANTED team is action director S Vijayan who has choreographed some breathtaking stunts for DABANGG, glimpses of which audiences will be treated to this Friday.

'The few who have seen the trailer are mighty impressed. There is something new about the film and then there is Salman Khan who gets back to his WANTED space and is presented like he never has been before. It has everything going for it -the concept, the action, the dialogue,'adds a trade analyst.

DABANGG starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha directed by Abhinav Kashyap releases this Eid.

For now wait for the first look releasing this Friday.

Katrina wants Isabel in Bollywood

Katrina Kaif is all set to launch her sister Isabel in Bollywood. Isabel who has learned acting from a New York based academy of acting and performance will be debuted in her sister Kat’s home production. Isabel is keen to become a big star like her sister Katrina Kaif. She is always interested in Bollywood and now finally the time has come when her dream will be converted into reality. Helping Isabel in her endeavor is her sister.

It is heard that filmmaker Farah Khan will direct the film. In the past, it was rumored that Salman Khan has taken the task of lifting Isabel’s career exactly the way he has done for Katrina Kaif. But as the distance between the two widens, he gave it up.

It is not only Katrina but Salman Khan is also bonding with Farah Khan in a bigger way. Farah has promised ‘Om Shanti Om’ sequel to Salman.

Dabangg and We are Family, Knock Out Sohail

The Diwali and Eid weekend along with the Christmas week are considered the best period business wise by the producers and distributors for releasing their films. No wonder some of the biggest films have been released on the aforementioned occasions. With the first of the three bountiful period, the Eid weekend less than two months away the shifting and shuffling games have begun

As per trade and distribution sources, from the three prestigious projects slated to release on 10th September, one has decided to move ahead. With Salman Khan's DABAANG and Arjun Rampal's WE ARE FAMILY staying put, producer Sohail Maklai, who had also planned to release his Sanjay Dutt starrer KNOCK OUT on the occasion of Eid has decided to postpone his film. As per Maklai, there was no sense in releasing the film amidst so much competition.

Though the actual release date for KNOCK OUT is still to be announced officially, our Delhi based distribution sources inform us that the film will now release on 1st October, to capitalize on the additional Gandhi Jayanti holiday.

Salman will work with Deepika

Salman Khan is not keen to share screen space with his ex-flame Katrina Kaif again. News is doing the rounds that he has opted for Deepika Padukone instead of Katrina Kaif for the remake of South Indian film, ‘Bodyguard’. Salman Khan’s brother-in-law, Atul Kulkarni is going to remake the film in Hindi. He suggested Kat’s name for the film but Salman wants to have Deepika on the board.
A source says, "Salman is keen on working with Deepika. He feels they will look good on screen. When Atul suggested Katrina's name, he shot it down saying the project needed a fresh pairing. He's watched the original and thought Deepika would fit the role perfectly."

In the past, Deepika had the opportunity to work with Sallu in Anees Bazmee’s ‘Ready’ but later Asin stepped in.

Salman and Katrina last starred in ‘Yuvraaj' which was a flop.

Astrologer says Katrina and Salman don't have future

Katrina Kaif will not marry Salman Khan! This is what the star signs are telling about Katrina Kaif. Famous astrologer Bhavikk Sangghvi predicts Katrina Kaif’s personal and professional life. Kat steps into 27th year. In professional front, this year will strengthen her position but on personal front, he predicted that she will not marry Salman and if she does, their marriage will not last long.
He predicts,
“Katrina was born on July 16, 1984which makes her a Number 7 (Neptune) person in numerology. Being ruled by Number 7, she is also ruled by Number 2 (Moon) as these two numbers always go hand in hand. She is a Cancerian (ruler Moon and Neptune – Numbers 2 and 7 again) and her destiny number adds up to 9 (Mars)”, explains Bhavikk.

“ Katrina will be entering her 27th year which indicates health issues, mainly due to unnecessary stress, negativity etc. which she is so much surrounded with and hence can affect her blood pressure levels”, predicts Bhavikk.

“On the professional front, her next release Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan adds up to Number 38 (2). For Kat, Number 2 is one of her strongest numbers and so this film will make her position stronger than what it already is. Her pairing with Akshay Kumar will 'click' once more and the movie will turn out to be one of the biggest hits of this year”, predicts Bhavikk.

“On the personal front, Katrina will not marry Salman and if she does, then it will not last long. They are completely different persons. Salman is a Number 9 (December 27, 1965) ruled by Mars (Number 9), Number 8 (Saturn – Capricorn) and Number 6 (Venus).

They share just the Number 9 in common but nothing else. Numbers 7 and 9 do not gel well with difference of opinion being the main negative aspect. They both are different people with no similar ideologies but can be friends for sure.

In nutshell, there is no great compatibility between the two and Katrina should avoid taking Salman too seriously. Rather, Katrina should not even think of marriage till July 2011”, informs Bhavikk.

“ I would advise her to wear an Emerald and a Pearl set in silver to bring in mental peace and stop unnecessary delays in his life (whatsoever) ”, advices Bhavikk before signing off.

Ready to watch Raavan

On Saturday evening after pack-up, a part of Salman's Ready crew in Sri Lanka took off to see Mani Ratnam's Raavan. Salman was also asked to accompany the excited group of actors and technicians.

Says a source, "Initially Salman did show interest in the film. But then when it was time to accompany the rest of the Ready unit, Salman opted out because of the controversial nature of the subject and also the fact that he has earned the wrath of the Tamilians by embracing endorsing and visiting Sri Lanka twice in a month."

More importantly, Raavan is worshipped by certain sections of the Sri Lankan people and the film did raise hackles when released in Sri Lanka.

Understandably, Salman was advised against accompanying his friends for Raavan. Mahesh Manjrekar who's shooting with Salman in Sri Lanka confirms the fact that Salman did not accompany him and the others who saw Raavan on Saturday.

"I went with my friends. But it went very peacefully. I had also heard that the Sri Lankans were offended by the way Raavan was depicted. But there were 500 people in the theatre and they watched in rapt attention."

Since the movie theatres in Sri Lanka do not allow edibles, Manjrekar and his friends had taken their own snacks. "We had a good time. Wish Salman accompanied us."

Amitabh wins over Salman Khan's Dus ka Dum

Big B and Salman Khan are in a tug of war these days. The superstars are getting ready with their respective shows on a popular TV channel. But, it seems Big B is having the upper hand.

According to sources, Big B's show KAUN BANEGA CROREPATI is being relaunched on a grand scale. This in turn has made Salman's show DUS KA DUM look small in comparison. Now, Salman's show has been postponed for the time being.

It must be mentioned that Big B's earlier seasons of KBC created mass hysteria and the channel wants to repeat that magic again. But, Salman seems to have become the victim of this game. He has been totally sidelined by Big B this time.

Now, how Salman deals with this latest challenge in his career is something we all want to see.

Katrina winning Salman's family

Katrina Kaif has arranged a special screening of ‘Rajneeti’ for Salman Khan’s family and won huge accolades from Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan. He was full of praise for the actress.

Talking about the special arrangement, Kat said, "I wish all these speculations on my personal life would end. Salman's family is the only family I've known in Mumbai. That can't change. Of course, I wanted Salim saab to see Raajneeti for very special reason. He has seen my struggle in Bollywood from the start. He's very proud of me."

Raajneeti director Prakash Jha said: "Salim saab was full of praise for Raajneeti. He specially praised the dialogues which, coming from him, was a great compliment. Earlier, Salim saab had said what he and Javed Akhtar saab wrote as a cops story in Zanjeer was nowhere near the authenticity of my cops story in Gangaajal. He's a generous man."

After watching the movie, Salim Khan called up Katrina and complimented her for performing superbly. Salim Khan expressed his desire to watch ‘Rajneeti’ in the social networking site and Kat fulfilled his wish, while, Salman Khan was missing from the entire picture. He was shooting outdoor.

Salman now with Zarine, bye to katrina

Zarine Khan is the new found love of Salman Khan. It was not very long when Zarine complimented Salman to the heavens. She called him her mentor but now it seems that the student-teacher relationship has taken a new turn. Grapevine buzzed that Salman Khan dumped Katrina Kaif for Zarine Khan. He finds his true love in Zarine. Several eyebrows raised when Zarine accompanied Salman at Aamir Khan’s party holding hand in hand.
Confirming the news a source said, “Heads turned when Zarine and Salman walked in together. And soon enough, there were hushed whispers doing the rounds at the party. Zarine was lugging on to Salman sleeve throughout the party. Though he spent most of his time talking to Aamir, he didn’t mind her presence at all.”
Salman and Katrina often hit the headlines for their love, tussle, and marriage. Interestingly, Katrina like Zarine owes her success to Salman.
Hope, Salman hunts for true love ends with Zarine Khan and he starts a family soon.

Asin-Salman's Ready in Sri Lanka

Even before the hangover of a spectacular Videocon IIFA Weekend 2010 subsides, it seems like the host country, Sri Lanka, has already begun reaping the benefits of playing host to IIFA's magnificent 11th edition. Recognizing the gorgeousness of the island nation, and the welcoming warmth received by the Indian Film Fraternity during another magical IIFA weekend, Anees Bazmee's new film Ready, produced by T-Series and starring Salman Khan and Asin in lead roles, will now be filmed in Sri Lanka, beginning 20th June, 2010. The movie's location for shooting was originally scheduled to be Mauritius, but after enjoying a beautiful locale like Colombo during the Videocon IIFA Weekend, there was much enthusiasm to change the location to Sri Lanka

It may be recalled that in the absence of the Bachchan parivar and Shah Rukh Khan at the recently held IIFA weekend in Colombo, it was none other than Salman Khan who was the main attraction at this extravaganza. The actor, who played a key role in the IIFA Hands for Humanity Project, as the Brand Ambassador for Charity, thoroughly appreciated the kindness and generosity of the Sri Lankans and claims to be thrilled about returning to the neighbouring island.

Sri Lanka is undoubtedly excited to welcome the whole cast of Ready. It seems like the exuberant aura of Sri Lanka, that received global recognition at the Videocon IIFA Weekend will prove to be a big plus for this host country in the days to come.
