Zoom into flashback mode and discover a duo of dons, molls and the underbelly of the underworld set in the 1970s, with ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI. Delve further and...you'll be rewarded with KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY, a period thriller based on the Chittagong Uprising Of the 1930s, helmed by Ashutosh Gowariker and patterned on the book 'Do And Die' by Manini Chatterjee.


Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone pair up under the hawk eyed guidance of Gowariker to unveil a saga of grit and defiant bravery, slated to illumine cinemas on December 3, 2010.

Once Abhishek Bachchan enacting Surjya Sen and Deepika Padukone essaying Kalpana Dutta had been pencilled into the project, the search was on through extensive auditions to rope in artistes who could imbibe and reflect the very essence of each of Sen's team of revolutionaries, bringing these forgotten patriots to life on screen. Their role in the uprising was defined by their personalities, which were varying in attributes.

Surjya Sen with his team of revolutionaries led the attack on five centres of British power in the town of Chittagong (then a part of undivided India) on the night of 18th April, 1930. The revolutionaries complemented Surjya Sen's leadership and each became an integral part of the attack.

The intense Nirmal Sen (Sikander Kher), the fiery Anant Singh (Maninder Singh), the rebellious Ganesh Ghosh (Samrat Mukherjee), the passionate Pritilata Waddadar (Vishakha Singh), the righteous Kalpana Dutta (Deepika Padukone), the idealistic Surjya Sen (Abhishek Bachchan), the meticulous Ambika Chakraborty (Shreyas Pandit) and the enigmatic Lokenath Bal (Feroze Wahid Khan) are all part of this period film.

Arjun is a fan of Kajol

Rest assured, Arjun Rampal is being remembered a lot more by Karan Johar when it comes to casting for his productions. After a cameo in KABHI ALVIDA NA KEHNA, he has elevated Arjun to the position of a solo male lead in STEPMOM remake - WE ARE FAMILY.

"It has been great fun doing the film. The good part is that when Siddharth (Malhotra), the director, came to me with the film, he ensured that it was not a frame to frame copy of the original. He has got a lot of maturity there. I was very moved with the script that was read out to me because I could see so many different angles that he had brought out", says Arjun who has to deal with two women in the film.

Arjun has never shared screen space before with either Kajol or Kareena, both of whom are known for being scene stealers. No wonder, there indeed was some task cut out for the actor.

"I have been a huge fan of Kajol and it has been fantastic to work with her. She is just so good. On the other hand it was amazing to work with Kareena also. She is at that position in her life where she is doing some wonderful work. The entire approach towards work and the energy that she possesses is infectious. Then there are also these three lovely children in the film and since I love to shoot with kids, it turned out to be one big team. Moreover, all said and done, because it is Karan who is producing the film, you know that it would be overviewed in a nice way."

"In fact when compared to the original character in the Hollywood flick, Siddharth's version is far more nuanced. This film is his interpretation of how a STEPMOM should be", Arjun talks fondly about WE ARE FAMILY which is all set for 10th September release.

Salman again in affairs

Salman Khan's love affairs are getting him back in news. This time it is his old flame Sangeeta Bijlani who is relying on Salman Khan to help her deal with her personal problems.

After reports that cricketer Azharhuddin and Sangeeta Bijlani's marriage is in danger, it's learnt that Sangeeta has been taking her ex-boyfriend Salman Khan's help to tide over her personal problems.

It's a well known fact that Sangeeta and Salman dated each other in the past and later had a bitter break-up. But, despite this history, Sangeeta shares a warm relationship with Salman and his family now.

So, what exactly is Salman advising Sangeeta over her marriage woes would really be something we want to know.

Dostana-2 delays due to script

The sequel to the hit film DOSTANA titled DOSTANA 2 has run into trouble. Apparently, creative differences between the director and the producer are delaying this project.

It's learnt that Karan Johar is unhappy with the way the story of DOSTANA 2 has shaped up. He wants changes in the script which the director is not ready to do.

Keeping this in mind, Karan Johar has postponed the shoot of the film till the changes are made and the script gets okayed by him.

DOSTANA 2 has been getting delayed for one or the other reason constantly. Now, the creative differences seem to have stalled the shoot. Hope the producer and the director sort their differences soon.

Trisha Krishnan is satisfied

Trisha has finally made her debut in Bollywood and she doesn't have any hesitation in admitting that life has indeed been good for her. Even though KHATTA MEETHA hasn't been a heroine centric outing for her, she does believe that it has been a fair start for her after all.

Given the fact that there may be more films coming her way after KHATTA MEETHA, what is it that she loves to do most in front of camera? Is being a glam doll good enough for her or is the prime criteria about role selection is definite meat in the character that she plays?

"Let me put it this way that after the years I have spent in the industry so far, I have had great opportunities to play roles that require actresses to be an integral part of a film," says Trisha, "Especially during last couple of years, I have been extremely satisfied with the roles that have come my way as they have a lot to offer for a female actress. There have been some heroine centric films while some movies have been such where there were no heroes or heroines per se as the stories were totally relationship based."

Now with KHATTA MEETHA running in theaters, what are the kind of vibes that she is getting? Has Bollywood woken up to her and started sending good feelers?

"It is a good feeling but the truth is known more only after the film has run for a while," she says without getting overboard, "You get to know the situation better and then take things with the flow. I am also waiting for the reactions to come in."

Dabangg Promo getting good response

The promo of Salman Khan's DABANGG is out and those who have seen it are raving about it. It looks uncannily similar to the 2009 Salman Khan starrer WANTED. However, Arbaaz Khan, who is the producer of DABANGG doesn't think so.

"DABANGG isn't WANTED's sequel. It's very different from WANTED. It's far more in a believable space though it's a commercial film. The action is similar to WANTED but that's about it. That was a city based film. Ours is a small town slick action drama. But the kind of audience that liked WANTED is surely going to like DABANGG." 

Salman Khan looks very similar to his WANTED's character in DABANGG. Even in DABANGG, he's playing a police officer. Doesn't Arbaaz think so? "That's true. But Salman's character in WANTED was very brooding, quiet and serious. Here, he is entertaining, jovial and far more verbose."

DABANGG will see Shatrughan Sinha's daughter, Sonakshi Sinha making her debut. Being directed by Abhinav Kashyap, DABANGG is slated to release on September 10.

Shahrukh and Akshay's freindship

For quite sometime Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan has been making repeated attempts to strengthen his bond with Akshay Kumar.

Not so long ago, when Akshay was shooting a song for his film BLUE, Shahrukh, who was also shooting in the same vicinity, paid a surprise visit to Akshay and the two gelled well. After that, when Akshay's HOUSEFULL was about to release Shahrukh had specially requested producer Sajid to arrange a screening at his residence Mannat. Shah Rukh was so impressed by Akshay's performance in HOUSEFULL that he not only sent a congratulatory SMS to the actor but also gifted him a very expensive watch as a mark of his appreciation. Akshay, too, reciprocated Shahrukh's this friendly gesture by presenting him a high-priced wristwatch.

If this was not enough, just a month ago, the duo met up on a flight to London and bonded like buddies. They joked and laughed and later also tweeted about their mid-air experiences.

Now the latest happening is that King Khan is quite keen on watching Akki's latest release KHATTA MEETHA. Reportedly, Shah Rukh's office has requested the producers Ashtavinayak for a print, which he will be watching at the recently-built preview theatre at his residence. Shahrukh, who is currently shooting for his highly anticipated film RA.ONE in London, is planning to take the much-needed break. And during his break he would catch up with Akshay's film KHATTA MEETHA.

Salman Khan with Kangana Ranaut

Salman Khan seems to have found a new favourite. After Katrina Kaif and Zarine Khan, Salman Khan has chosen to work with Kangna Ranaut for his maiden production. The film will be directed by ace filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar.

It's learnt that Salman and Mahesh Manjrekar wanted to cast an actress who could emote strongly and yet look glamorous and their search ended with finalising Kangna for the film.

With this film Kangna has proved that she is becoming the new reigning queen in B-Town since she's bagging all the big films at the moment.

Rajkumar Hirani's Hey Bhagwan

After the success of his last film 3 IDIOTS, Raj Kumar Hirani is getting set with his next which has been titled HEY BHAGWAN.

The film deals with a divine subject with as many as 300 gods. Though the script of the film is still being penned, Raju Hirani feels that it will see the light of the day soon.

The film deals with the multi-cultural ethos of our country in which different gods are venerated for different problems. The film will have the typical making of a Raju Hirani film which is all about humour with an underlying message.

Shahrukh Gauri will act together

Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan are going Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor, Abhishek-Aishwarya and Akshay-Twinkle’s way. The couple will be seen in a commercial. They will shoot for a very popular furnishing house. The shooting will take place in Mumbai.

Confirming the news a source said, “Sunhil Sippy, will be directing King Khan and his wife in this commercial. And in this stint, Sunhil seems to have got by with a little help from his friends Makarand Deshpande and Saurabh Shukla actively helping him out wherever possible.”

Gauri who accompanies hubby in various events will for the first time appear with SRK on-screen, “Gauri has been approached for commercials earlier but somehow things never worked out. This commercial with Shah Rukh will be her first full-fledged assignment in front of the camera,” added the source.

‘Anjaana Anjaani’ speaks about two people who suffer failure in their career and love life. Frustrated with constant failure, they attempted suicide but destiny has stored something else for them. The film is scheduled for September release.

Shot in New York and Las Vegas, Ranbir will be seen in the get-up of a superhero and Santa Claus. A source reveals, "Ranbir's get ups are part of a song. He had fun dressing up as Batman and Santa Claus. It will be one of the highlights of the film."

Aamir again wins over Shahrukh Khan

Aamir Khan scores over Shahrukh Khan again. After being Danny Boyle’s favorite for his next flick, ‘Bombay Velvet’, Aamir Khan again replaced Shahrukh Khan in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s upcoming flick ‘Ferrari Ki Sawari’.
Vidhu was confused as whom to cast for his next venture, Aamir or Shahrukh. When he was unable to fix his mind, he ran an opinion poll. It was conducted by Chopra’s assistant directors and production executives. He went around the coffee shops starting from Bandra to Juhu. Finally, the result went in favor of Aamir Khan. People preferred Aamir to Shahrukh to play a father to a nine year old son.

Its not only Aamir who scored higher than Shahrukh but Sharman Joshi also went on to achieve maximum votes than SRK to play the role of a father. The film will be directed by none other than Raj Kumar Hirani.

Shahrukh Khan’s last flick, ‘My Name Is Khan’ also could not win the heart of his fans. It seems SRK’s magic is fading with every passing day.

My role was really tough : Kangana

Ever since ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI was announced and proclaimed to be about the gangs of Mumbai (then called Bombay) with the 70s battle of Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim being a definite highlight, there was immense curiosity to know more about the presence of leading ladies in the film.

However, Kangna - just like most of the cast members of the film - refuses to comment on the reference point. "If you ask me then there is my reference point to any real life personality that any of the male protagonists may have been connected to in reality. On closer look you would find that my character is based more on the rebellious actresses from 70s like Zeenat Aman and Parveen Babi. They changed the way actresses were perceived to be in the era gone by. These women were bold, beautiful, daring, gorgeous and above all courageous. They were the ones who started the trend of live in relationships, something which is so 'in' today."

Kangna is happy that she went ahead and played yet another character that stems from a biographical tale.

"The brief that was given to me by Milan (Luthria) was that I have to project such a woman with whom every man should fall in love", she smiles, "On the face value this seems simple but enacting this is a different challenge altogether. To play a Bollywood Diva who is so real isn't something that is easy to portray. I had to act a lot through eyes and emotions."

Well one had all the right reasons to believe so. After all Kangna Ranaut has made a career out of playing mysterious or biographical characters (Monica Bedi for GANGSTER, Parveen Babi for WOH LAMHE, a drug addict model in FAHION) ever since she entered the industry. Now that she is all set to play a Bollywood Diva, ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI should hopefully make for a glam filled fun watch once it releases all over on 30th July.

Abhay can be net Anil Kapoor

Rising Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor said that Abhay Deol has the potentiality to become the next Anil Kapoor.

"Abhay Deol has the potentiality to become the next Anil Kapoor," said Sonam in a TV interview.

Abhay and Sonam are paired together for the first time in director Rajshree Ojha's film AISHA. The film is co-produced by Sonam's father and actor Anil Kapoor and is scheduled to get released in August.

Sonam's recently released film I HATE LUV STORYS gained a good response from both critics as well as the audience. Now it will be interesting to see how the new pair performs in their upcoming movie AISHA.

Dabangg trailer starts tomorrow

The first look of the film that is already a topic of discussion in industry circles promises to be one of the most entertaining films in recent times in true Salman Khan style! This time around he is joined by gorgeous debutant Sonakshi Sinha one of the most promising leading ladies to have the hit the screen.

  DABANGG that sees Salman Khan play the role of a corrupt cop primarily deals with the unlawful practices in UP and Bihar Khan highlighting the flaws and loopholes in the system.

The year 2010 has been very good for Arjun Rampal. He has been a part of two of the biggest hits of the year, Sajid Khan's HOUSEFULL and Prakash Jha's RAAJNEETI. And the icing on the cake is that the audiences as well as the critics have been full of praise for Arjun in both the films.

While HOUSEFULL was a laugh riot and RAAJNEETI a political drama, in both the cases Arjun's strong, macho image was exploited by the makers. However, in his next film, Karan Johar's We ARE FAMILY, a remake of Hollywood's STEPMOM the case is just the opposite.  

Talking about the film, Arjun reveals that this is an emotional family drama, a very sensitive film and that he would advise the audience to take a bag full of tissue papers with them as it would surely make them shed a few tears! He also elaborated that after watching WE ARE FAMILY the audience will hug their mothers and realize how very important they are for any family to survive and cope with the hardships of the world.

Director/Choreographer Farah Khan renowned for capturing actors at their glamorous best is all set to make Katrina Kaif give Shakira a run for her money.

The song titled 'Sheela ki jawani' will see Katrina Kaif belly dancing much on the lines of Shakira videos for which Farah Khan has flown down one of the world's most renowned trainers from Brazil.

Talking about Katrina's hottest song yet Farah says, "You will see Katrina in an all new avatar. She has never looked this hot. Audiences are in for a treat."

Sources also reveal that Katrina Kaif who is currently shooting in Spain is working hard on her physique and adhering to a special diet for the song.

Mugdha will not be seen in Madhur Bhandarkar's next

Madhur Bhandarkar is almost through with the casting for DIL TOH BACHCHA HAI JI. While Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi are confirmed as the male leads along with Omi Vaidya, even Shruti Hassan has been finalised as one of the leading ladies in the film. Also, names for the remaining two leading ladies would be announced soon.

He is also scripting HEROINE which is said to be based on the life of a superstar female actor and has Kareena Kapoor essaying the central role. However Mugdha Godse, who featured in Bhandarlar's last two films- JAIL and FASHION, is not in the scene of things for any of these newer films. Doesn't she feel that she is missing all the fun?

"Now that's a question which you should be asking him," smiles Mugdha, "Whatever information that I have around Madhur's next film is only through newspapers. I haven't had any conversation with him regarding that. In any case, though I don't have any qualms reaching out to film makers, I know that I don't have to necessarily do that when it comes to those with whom I have already worked with. They realize my potential and if they feel that I suit a particular role, they will in any case reach out to me. I would always be ready for them."

Meanwhile, she is confident about the prospects of HELP which, as per has, has been shot quite uniquely by director Rajeev Virani.

"HELP is also pretty informative. Moreover, there is a lot to do in the film from performance standpoint; something which I guess gets ignored in number of horror films. Most of the horror films are a little slow because the director wants to get into a build up mode with sound, camerawork and some spooky frames. On the other hand ours is a fast paced film. This is something unique because normally, we don't see a pacy horror film," explains Mugdha.

Akshay wants help for Khatta Meetha

Akshay Kumar is busy touring the country for the promotions of his forthcoming movie KHATTA MEETHA. Besides the cycle marathon in Pune that Akki participated in, he had also visited Nagpur city.

Akshay has always led a rather disciplined and regimented life. Besides, he is known to be quite spiritual. In tune with this, Akshay visited a series of religious places in the city of Nagpur. In fact, he offered his prayers at not only the famous Ganesh Tekdi temple but also at a Gurudwara and a mosque. In addition, he also made a visit to the famed Baba Saheb Ambedkar statue.

After the temple visits, Akki went to Cinemax to meet thousands of fans who were waiting to get a glance of him.

With one of the songs of KHATTA MEETHA having been shot at the well known Ram Mandir in Satara, coupled with Akshay's visit to Nagpur's holy places, the movie is already showered with blessings and is bound to find its way to success!

Sanjay Kareena in Ek Anokhi Prem Katha

After a long hiatus, Mahesh Manjrekar and Sanjay Dutt are back in Manjrekar's ambitious film EK ANOKHI PREM KAHANI that will also star Kareena Kapoor.

The film is a story of a blind girl and a badly disfigured man. Says Manjrekar, "The film was planned with Sanju and Kareena in mind after the latter debuted in J P Dutta's film REFUGEE in 2000. Her pristine beauty and innocence was what I needed to play up against the character Sanju will play in the film."

Dutt and Manjrekar, who had worked together in sensitive films like VAASTAV and VIRUDDH among many others did not see eye-to-eye for a long time till they met up at the recently held IIFA awards ceremony and patched up.

Only girls allowed for John : Bipasha

If there is one thing that Bipasha Basu is afraid about, it's the number of guys liking her boyfriend John Abraham. John is again teaming up with Abhishek Bachchan for DOSTANA 2. The beautiful actress revealed this at a press conference to unveil jewellery brand Gili's new ad campaign.

'It will be good only if girls like John. After DOSTANA, guys have also started liking him, which is very scary,' said the Bong beauty.

Speaking about her engagement ring, Bipasha said, 'I'm hoping my engagement ring comes from John's side. He needs to worry about it. I hope it's nice and beautiful. Not too big, not too small. It has to be just the right size for my finger. But my engagement won't happen soon. When we plan to do it, everyone will know.'

Bipasha's film LAMHAA, which released last Friday, received mixed responses from the critics and audiences. So is she upset about it?

'Every film has its own destiny. I am very proud to be a part of LAMHAA. The kind of appreciation I got from whoever saw the film was excellent. I have got fantastic feedback for my character Aziza. We can't really control what happens to a film. The director of the film, Rahul Dholakia is a brilliant man and I would love to work with him again,' stated Bipasha.

According to Akshay i am quiter : Trisha

A veteran of over 30 films down South, Trisha Krishnan is all set to make her Bollywood debut this Friday with KHATTA MEETHA. Though she has been in the business of films for close to 7-8 years now, it was an altogether new start for her when it came to her Bollywood sojourn. No wonder, she was a little reserved to begin with, something that caught the notice of her producer and co-star Akshay Kumar who did all to make her feel comfortable on the sets.

"That's right; I wasn't interacting much with people during my early days KHATTA MEETHA. Also, for every actor the first couple of days on any film are a little awkward since you are playing a new character. I was in the same state for KHATTA MEETHA as well," remembers Trisha who is enjoying a mega Bollywood debut that sees Priyadarshan calling the shots, "In any case, I am a bit reserved by nature. Also, I was a little tense about dialogues because this is my first Hindi film. This is where Akshay came in and told me what he thought about me."

What he went on to say next relaxed the whole atmosphere on the sets and enlivened the proceedings for all.

"He said that girls in Mumbai talk so much while I was just opposite to them as I was so much quieter. For him, it was such a new experience after all", laughs Trisha, "I told him 'Ok, I take your feedback. I will now make an effort to change myself'. Credit to him actually for making me feel so much more involved. He is such a veteran and could have easily opted to stay in his own world but he still made an effort."

The director, who made films like COMPANY that was loosely based on Indian mafia organization D-Company, is all set to make his next film DEPARTMENT that will be based on the lives of encounter cops Daya Nayak and Pradeep Sawant.

Though the subject of the film will be the relationship between the police and the underwold, in DEPARTMENT, the same would be portrayed in a realistic manner. The film will deal with the forming of the encounter sqad and will follow the lives of the encounter cops and their friendship and rivalries.

Sanjay Dutt who had last worked with the director in DAUD and Abhishek Bachchan have been tipped to essay the pivotal roles. However, selection of an actor who would essay the current Director General of Police of Mumbai D Sivanathan's the character is still underway.

Celina Jaitly's english title hindi movies

Lissome lass Celina Jaitly is indeed on a roll with numerous films in her kitty lining up for release. Interestingly, all her films have one peculiar thing in common.

The titles of all her upcoming films are in English. Some of these movies include the Anees Bazmee directed THANK YOU, Neeraj Vora's RUN BHOLA RUN and Subhash Ghai's HELLO DARLING. Also with English titles are her forthcoming movies WILL YOU MARRY ME? and SHOWMAN.

Hrithik in Shekhar Kapoor's Paani?

Is Hrithik Roshan confirmed as the lead protagonist in Shekhar Kapur's futuristic saga PAANI? Or is he not? This has been the question making the rounds of the industry circles ever since his last venture KITES got tangled at the box office. Since no official confirmation has come in from either the director or the actor, there is no absolute certainty around the two joining hands for this multi million dollar film which would be shot in India.

When contacted, Sidhartha Jain, CEO with iROCK and Executive Producer with Shekhar Kapur on PAANI, also chose to keep silent around the entire 'issue'.

"As of now, we are not commenting on the casting of the film", he says, "For any big high profile project like this, there are always quite a few gossips that float around. However, all of this would be settled in due course of time."

To make matters worse, the biggest setback for Hrithik came from the mainstream international release of the 'Remix' version of KITES. After the 'desi version' didn't make any impact in India, the edited version wasn't any better as there were absolutely no takers. This was heart breaking for the makers because 'firang' audience was indeed the target audience here if English and Spanish treatment was any indication. Naturally, the failure of both the versions meant that for the English speaking audience, Hrithik was still not the most viable option that a Hollywood film maker could have contemplated.

"This is the reason why a question is being raised again around whether Hrithik stays on to be the best choice for PAANI," says a trade follower, "Yes, he has the fan following, charisma and most importantly goodwill in the industry. None of that has been lost even after KITES. In fact, he still has a great market hold, as seen from the terrific opening that the film took. However, as far as his stint with hardcore international cinema like PAANI is concerned, it is still going to be a wait and watch situation."

Vidya shooting for No One Killed Jessica

While Vidya Balan who considers herself half a Bengali had herself a ball in Kolkata last week shooting for Rajkumar Gupta's No One Killed Jessica, Rani Mukerjee who is a fully certified Bengali was not to be seen in her home-town.

Going by the way Vidya's shooting schedule went in Kolkata it was all for the best if Rani stayed away.

Apparently, the 2-day schedule had to be shot with secret cameras in prominent public places where the security was most inadequate.

Says the source, "We had to shoot in crowded locations like the Kolkata airport, Baliganj, Park Circus and New Market. The crowds in these places were impossible to control. We had rushed in place the cameras secretly. Vidya would then get into camera range and before the bystanders recognized the star in their midst, we were out. If Rani had also accompanied Vidya it would've been impossible to control."

Director Rajkumar Gupta is tight-lipped about the details in Kolkata. "All I can tell you is that shooting in Kolkata was even tougher than Delhi. But it was fun. By now, I am used to shooting on crowded main streets with my actors. It was the last two days of shooting. On the second day after we finished, (dress designer) Sabysachi Chakraborty who belongs to Kolkata, took the entire unit out for dinner. We had some terrific Bengali food. We celebrated till the wee hours." Rani, alas, was no part of the celebration.

Shahrukh in Big Boss 4

Sony has roped in Amitabh Bachchan to host the fourth season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ then Colors has signed Shahrukh Khan to host ‘Bigg Boss 4’. The first, second and third season of Bigg Boss was hosted by Shilpa Shetty, Arshad Warsi and Amitabh Bachchan. It was heard that the channel at first approached Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt for hosting Bigg Boss but after their refusal, the responsibility of hosting the show went to Shahrukh Khan.

Shahrukh Khan failed to charm his audience when he hosted ‘Kya Aap Panchi Pass Se Tez Hai’ in Star Plus and he was also not liked much when he dethroned Amitabh Bachchan in the second season of  KBC. Shahrukh might be ruling the world of Bollywood but he is yet to become the king of TV.
The contestants taking part in the show is yet to be declared but Sara Khan of ‘Bidaai’ is believed to be the first contestant of Big Boss 4. Last season, Vindu Dara Singh won the show.

Dabangg and We are Family, Knock Out Sohail

The Diwali and Eid weekend along with the Christmas week are considered the best period business wise by the producers and distributors for releasing their films. No wonder some of the biggest films have been released on the aforementioned occasions. With the first of the three bountiful period, the Eid weekend less than two months away the shifting and shuffling games have begun

As per trade and distribution sources, from the three prestigious projects slated to release on 10th September, one has decided to move ahead. With Salman Khan's DABAANG and Arjun Rampal's WE ARE FAMILY staying put, producer Sohail Maklai, who had also planned to release his Sanjay Dutt starrer KNOCK OUT on the occasion of Eid has decided to postpone his film. As per Maklai, there was no sense in releasing the film amidst so much competition.

Though the actual release date for KNOCK OUT is still to be announced officially, our Delhi based distribution sources inform us that the film will now release on 1st October, to capitalize on the additional Gandhi Jayanti holiday.

Kangana in Rascals with Ajay and Sanjay

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is making a conscious effort to break her 'tough dramatic or tragic roles' image and, perhaps, that's the reason she is working predominantly in light hearted films now. After being a part of as many as three comic ventures NO PROBLEM, TANU WEDS MANU and DOUBLE DHAMAAL (DHAMAAL sequel), the lanky lady has yet again signed an out-an-out comedy film RASCALS.

The trade is abuzz with the news that filmmaker David Dhawan, the King of comedy, who is making RASCALS with actors Ajay Devgan and Sanjay Dutt, has roped in Kangana as one of the leading ladies of the film. Apparently the film is being produced by Sanjay Dutt alongwith his wife Maanyata Dutt and it is their first home production. As the female lead needed to be sexy, glamorous and funny, they finalized Kangana for the part.

This is the first time Kangana is working with Sanjay Dutt, however with Ajay this is her second outing after ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI.

With the teaming of three powerhouse performers and backing of the filmmaker like David Dhawan one can sure expect fireworks on-screen!

Hrithik, Abhay and Farhan to run with bulls

For a scene in ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA, Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol were seen running from the bulls. Shooting in Spain, the trio was dressed in traditional red and white costumes.

ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA is being directed by Zoya Akhtar and also stars Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin. The film is a male bonding road story, about four friends. It is believed to be on the lines of Farhan Akhtar's DIL CHAHTA HAI.

Abhay will be soon promoting his next film Aisha with Sonam kapoor and we are hoping it to be good.

Katrina Celebrates her birthday in Spain

The gorgeous Katrina Kaif turns a year older today. Though she is shooting far away in Spain her fans cannot stop being excited about this day.

On her birthday, Katrina has no special plans lined up except celebrating with her crew members who include her director Zoya Akhtar and co-stars Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol on the sets of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

Katrina would love to baby sit on her birthday as this is her wish. The gorgeous actress is basking in the success of her latest release RAAJNEETI and hopes that her success run continues at the box office for her coming films too.


Last year on her birthday, Shahrukh and Salman Khan fights and that is also concluded as a reason of not celebrating her birthday.

Shahrukh and Juhi together

Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, who share an old bond of friendship, recently shared some great time in each other's company in London.

Buzz is that Juhi Chawla has been stressed after her brother and CEO of SRK's company Red Chillies Entertainment took ill. Ever since Juhi has been too stressed and recently her friends advised her to go on a break.

When Juhi finally decided to join her husband and kids in London to her utter surprise SRK was also holidaying with his family in the UK. The two families bonded and spent some quality time with each other.

Now, reportedly Juhi looks less stressed than before but her concern for her brother's health is still making her sad. Let's hope Bobby has a speedy recovery.

Prachi Desai's once a year experience

Prachi Desai is someone who makes once a year appearance. In 2008 she made a rocking debut with ROCK ON, in 2009 she followed it up with another reasonable success in LIFE PARTNER and this year she has ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI is coming up, a film that has sent just the right signals in the industry. However, given the fact that Prachi has maintained a plain Jane image for herself during all these years, one does get a strong sense that she has created some boundaries for herself when it comes to picking and choosing roles.

"Honestly speaking, I haven't really made any conscious effort around this", says Prachi, "In fact what has proven to be a drawback is my earlier work that I did for television. I was offered the kind of roles in films that reminded people of my TV stint. I didn't want to do that. Thankfully, now the situation has changed for better so people are looking at me differently as well."

Being someone who is keeping a wait and watch stance as far as picking up newer assignments is concerned, Prachi understands that the going would be a little tougher for her. "Frankly, I am a complete outsider which makes things even tougher for me. For us actors, it is the script, director and the role that chooses you and not the other way around. All I have done consciously though is not to accept roles that I have been doing earlier on TV or even my couple of films. I don't want to repeat myself."

She doesn't believe that it is only girl-next-door roles for her so far in Bollywood.

She says, "If you look at my films so far, ROCK ON had me playing a very subtle character, in LIFE PARTNER there was a lot more comedy while ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI has me in a period setting. So yes, they have all been different".

Shahid wamts her ladylone

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor admits that he is tried of being single and wanted to mingle with his dream girl. He wants to fall in love again. “I’m tired of my single status. May be I will run into my dream girl in Edinburgh,” says the actor who is currently in the UK shooting for his father, Pankaj Kapoor’s directorial debut 'Mausam' with Sonam Kapoor.

Shahid had some unsuccessful relationship with Bollywood actresses like Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra, tennis player Sania Mirza and most recently with Anushka Sharma. Apart from them, he had a long period of romance with Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor. They were together for five years but their love story ended with the release of ‘Jab We Met’. He even announced in a loud voice that he is single and ready to mingle during Karan Johar’s chat show, ‘Lift Kara De’.

Lately, his long-delayed film, ‘Milenge Milenge’ with ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor opened in the theatres but could not pull the cine-lovers to the cinema hall. It throws the signal that audience does not want to see Kareena-Shahid on-screen together again.

Salman will work with Deepika

Salman Khan is not keen to share screen space with his ex-flame Katrina Kaif again. News is doing the rounds that he has opted for Deepika Padukone instead of Katrina Kaif for the remake of South Indian film, ‘Bodyguard’. Salman Khan’s brother-in-law, Atul Kulkarni is going to remake the film in Hindi. He suggested Kat’s name for the film but Salman wants to have Deepika on the board.

A source says, "Salman is keen on working with Deepika. He feels they will look good on screen. When Atul suggested Katrina's name, he shot it down saying the project needed a fresh pairing. He's watched the original and thought Deepika would fit the role perfectly."

In the past, Deepika had the opportunity to work with Sallu in Anees Bazmee’s ‘Ready’ but later Asin stepped in.

Salman and Katrina last starred in ‘Yuvraaj' which was a flop.

Rani wants Aamir Khan

Rani Mukherjee who debuted with ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat’ is desired to work with perfectionist Aamir Khan. She expressed her desire to work with Aamir Khan during the music launch of ‘Peepli Live’. She wants to pair with Aamir in a Karan Johar’s film.

"What do u think on idea to pair Rani with Aamir? It would be great 4 me," Rani posted on her Twitter account. Rani worked with Karan in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998), ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ (2001) and ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ (2006).
"Do u plan to make your next movie with Rani in a leading role? That would be great. Come on KJo, do a movie with Rani," she posted.
Rani worked with Aamir in 'Ghulam' and ‘Mangal Pandey’. She was last seen in ‘Dil Bole Haddipa’ opposite Shahid Kapoor but the film could not revive Rani’s drowning career.

Saif is such a good guy says Kareena

Saif Ali Khan is not only good as a lover but also as a producer he rocks. He looks after every slightest discomfort of Kareena Kapoor while shooting for ‘Agent Vinod’ in Tangiers and Marrakech. "Saif is the best producer I have worked with. He takes care of everything for me and sees to my littlest of comforts", quips Bebo.
Apart from Bebo, Saif also took care of his crew and looked after their discomfort. After the shoot, he threw a lavish wrap up party for the entire cast and the crew in an expensive nightclub in Marrakech.

Says a source close to his girlfriend, Kareena Kapoor, "Bebo and Saif have been shooting for Agent Vinod in Tangiers and Marrakech for 20 days now.
When they shot in Tangiers, Saif had hired beautiful villas (called riads) for everyone. Each riad had its own private beach and terrace and was very close to the Atlas mountainsand desert. Kareena loved the place as it had a very simple, grungy look."

Then the unit shifted to Marrakech. "Saif had a schedule wrap up party after we packed up there. Saif and his business partner Dinesh Vijan invited the entire crew to dance the night away at Theatro, a very expensive nightclub. One can also avail of personal DJs, it's that exclusive."

Katrina Kaif will not marry Salman Khan! This is what the star signs are telling about Katrina Kaif. Famous astrologer Bhavikk Sangghvi predicts Katrina Kaif’s personal and professional life. In professional front, this year will strengthen her position but on personal front, he predicted that she will not marry Salman and if she does, their marriage will not last long.

Peepli [Live] Music Review

Peepli [Live] is Aamir khan's next production and in news for its A certificate. Even Aamir doesn't have any problem with it. The movie is getting attention just because of Aamir as director is Anusha Rizvi who is making her debut, actors are from rural area. The music director Ram Sampat, Indian ocean and Nageen Tanveer are new and unknown for industry.the good part was expected by Prasoon Joshi who has given lyrics.

At the music launch of Peepli [Live], Aamir plays the drum and the actor Raghuveer Yadav gave live performance which was shocking and really good. The movie contains four songs which are Des Mera, Mehngai Dayain, Zindagi se darte ho and Chola Maati ke ram.

The song Des mera is sung by Indian Ocean (he is new and unknown for box-office). The music of song is original and show the rural India. The song attack politics and system. The lines like "India se yeh desh bhayankar" in the song match the theme.
 
The song Mehngai Dayain is sung by actor Raguveer Yadav who also gave live performance at Peepli [Live] Music launch. In the song the instruments used are rural like Pots etc. The song makes an attack on increasing rate of everything. The effect of it on rural area is shown.

The song Zindagi se Darte ho is sung by Indian Ocean. The song is used for giving born to new energy to fight against the system and corruption. The lyrics is really good and this is the only song which some how don't use rural language.

The song Chola Maati ke ram is sung by Nageen Tanvir. Extremely well singing by her and the lyrics of this song also shows rural India. This song also shows believe of rural people in God.

On the whole as expected from Aamir, music is good and rural kind, the music also gives a touch of Haryana. The lyrics is good and now we hope movie to have a good response.

Aisha Music Review

Aisha is the Anil Kapoor's first home production starring Abhay Deol, Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor. Rhea kapoor is debuting from his father's production.

Music of Aisha is in stores. Music of Aisha is Indi-Pop. The music director is Amit Trivedi who recently got award for Dev-D. Lyrics is given by Javed Akhtar who do not need any recognisation.

Music contains all kind of Indian flavour i.e. romance, bhangra, Rock, Pop, Jazz. The genre of music is really nice. Aisha is already in news for its very new fashion and its music.

The movie contains six songs which are  Suno Aisha, Gal Mithi Mithi, Shaam bhi koi, Behke behke, Lehrein and By The way. Amit Trivedi, Anushka Manchanda, Nauman Pinto, Tochi Rana, Anusha Mani and Raman Mahadevan are the singers in movie. Music is really nice and fresh.

The songs make us remember of 50's style. Music is really nice and getting a good response. Aisha springs a pleasant surprise. Of course one did expect a good score here but what one gets to hear is complete album that is new age, different and yet so appealing to youth.

Khatta Meetha Music Review

Khatta Meetha is the another upcoming comedy of Priyadarshan and starring Akshay and Trisha. The music of Khatta Meetha is out and having good response. The music is directed by Rajesh Roshan and lyricist by Shehzad Roy.

The movie contains just four songs which are Nana Chi Tang, Sajde, Bull Shit and Aila re Aila. The movie contains three hilarious songs and one romantic song which is Sajde.

The song Nana Chi Tang is sung by Kunal Ganjawala, which means Teri Aisi Ki Taisi. Sajde is a romantic and beautiful song sung by K.K and Sunidhi Chauhan.

The song Bull Shit and Aila re Aila are really funny and sung by Shehzad and Daler Mehni, kalpana respectively. The lyrics by Shehzad Roy is really nice.

The music is good with good lyrics and getting a good response. Now it is wait for movie to release and entertain the audience.

Kangana in Dhamaal 2

Ever since the beginning of her career, Kangna Ranaut has excelled in roles where her character is a tad edgy. Also, there is a certain psychotic/suicidal element to majority of her characters. Whether it is Simran of GANGSTER, Sana Azim of WOH LAMHE, Neha of LIFE IN A METRO, Shonali of FASHION, Nandita of RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES or Gina Grover of KITES - each of these characters hasn't quite been a regular girl next door with everything hunky-dory about her. No wonder, one has waited to see Kangna in a film where she could afford to live life normally, be happy, enjoy a normal relationship and let her hair loose.

Audience (and perhaps Kangna's) wait has finally come to an end with the actor being signed for DOUBLE DHAMAAL, sequel to the original DHAMAAL, which was successful at the box office. Icing on the cake lies in the fact that though the first of this Indra Kumar franchise was an all boys affair (Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, Ashish Chaudhary), the sequel is all set to be a far colorful affair with female protagonists being an integral part of the film as well.

Confirms Kangna, "Yes, I have signed the film. It seems good fun to be working in a laughter entertainment like DHAMAAL. Being a part of a comic outing like this should be quite interesting." When asked about her leading man in the film, Kanga informs, "I am paired opposite Riteish in DOUBLE DHAMAAL. We begin shooting this September." DOUBLE DHAMAAL would be for the first time that Kangna would be working with Riteish Deshmukh, something that should make for an altogether fresh new pairing.

Other than Kangna, there is another leading lady in the film as well. As per reports, Vidya Balan is also a part of DOUBLE sequel and would be paired opposite Sanjay Dutt. However, an official confirmation is yet to come in.

Deepika and Ranbir clashes again

Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor might be trying to get back together one more time, but it seems the spark of love is missing in their attempt.

After their much talked about break-up, Ranbir and Deepika patched up recently and wanted to give their relationship another chance. While both Deepika and Ranbir are serious about this, but something seems to be going terribly wrong between them.

Now, the latest reports reveal that Deepika wants a commitment from Ranbir Kapoor while Ranbir wants to remain single. This new twist in the tale is making matters worse yet again. There are reports that the two are having regular fights these days. No one exactly knows what Ranbir-Deepika are headed for eventually.

Well, let's hope things between Ranbir and Deepika are sorted at the earliest.

I am confused for Aisha : Sonam

Sonam Kapoor has admitted that she is confused. In an interview the actress has accepted that her character in AISHA is a reflection of her true self in many ways.

It must be mentioned that Sonam Kapoor plays the role of a confused girl in the film that has little knowledge about the world outside.
 
After her last film I HATE LUV STORYS got a mixed response at the box-office, Sonam Kapoor is pinning all hope on her next release - AISHA.

The film is making waves for its music and in all likelihood might be Sonam's best act so far. Let's wait and watch.

Golmaal 3 and Action Replayy shooting for Last Song

The shooting of the much talked about retro song is currently on at various locations of the picturesque Kullu-Manali valley. The filming of the song is expected to end before the coming weekend and with that the shooting of ACTION REPLAYY will be over.

An interesting news is that ACTION REPLAYY's 'Diwali' release partner, Rohit Shetty's GOLMAAL 3 will also be doing about the same from today! Yes, as per trade sources the last song of Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd.'s GOLMAAL 3 will be picturised from July 14 to July 16 at Mumbai's Film City. It will be choreographed by Ganesh Acharya and the entire cast will participate. After this schedule the film will be complete, around the same time as ACTION REPLAYY!

Well, here is wishing that both Vipul and Rohit manage to get huge and similar scale of success on November 3!
